Followed-up with Jerry after our initial meeting. Discussed plan for NIL presentation including subject matter.  I shared with Jerry the contacts I had acquired after my meeting with Korinthe Patterson and her colleagues.  Korinthe emailed me a number of local high school ADs and their contact information.  The plan is to create a presentation on NIL rules, laws, best practices, recent deals, trends, etc. The presentation will be targeted to high school student athletes, their parents, and school administrators. These will be athletes who plan to participate in collegiate athletics.  Jerry is aware of some experts in the NIL field that have been educating administrators, but believes there is a need for both more voices and education of students and parents themselves.  Discussed with Jerry my plans for the next few weeks to begin researching the various topics.  Set up a time to regroup in a week to review my progress.  After our meeting I researched various options for building the presentation.  Decided on using Power Point given it’s compatibility and available options.  Researched various NIL educational programs. What is currently offered and what is missing from the space. Began research and writing basic information that will be used to ultimately create a power point based training program for student athletes.  The advent of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) in college athletics has sparked a seismic shift in the landscape of collegiate sports. The long-standing debate over whether student-athletes should be allowed to profit from their own name, image, and likeness has finally reached a tipping point, resulting in a paradigm shift in the NCAA's rules and regulations. This transformation opens up new horizons and opportunities for student-athletes, but also raises several questions and concerns about the impact and implications of NIL.
